Share

Just when you thought Carnaval couldn’t be more fun, one very clever Comparsas group has decided to up the ante in their fundraising efforts and bring to you Reina del Carnaval 2014. That’s right! Flora’s Carnaval Group has undertaken the big task of hosting a pageant in an effort to raise funds for their costumes and expenses as a group.

On Friday, February 28th, at 7:30PM at the Rafael A. Nuñez Auditorium, six fun, bubbly, and talented ladies will be vying for the title of Carnaval queen. They are: Leonor Rosado, Shelly Huber, Mel Spain, Edilma Leal, Sherlette Belisle and Zeida Chan. All six beautiful women will be modeling sportswear, perform talents, and of course, shine in their most elegant of evening gowns before braving a Question and Answer segment.

Only one can be crowned the Reina, but in fact, everyone is a winner, as they will be on stage for the benefit of a Comparsas group that dedicates its time and efforts to keeping San Pedro’s Carnaval tradition alive. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids, while reserved seating is available at $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Contact Wil Alamilla at 624-9480 or Flora Ancona at 650-5710 for more information or to reserve your seats today!

Make sure you mark your calendars and be sure to make your way to the Auditorium to cheer on your favorite contestant!
