The list is complete! With the announcements of Miss Guatemala and Miss Belize, we have a full roster of ladies vying for the title of Reina de la Costa Maya 2015.
Miss Guatemala, Lisa Hayet Francis, is a 20-year-old visual merchandiser who enjoys drawing, swimming and playing basketball.
Miss Belize is the lovely Samalia Vernon. The 22-year-old is from Belmopan and currently attending St. John’s Junior College in Belize City, majoring in Business and Marketing. Vernon enjoys yoga, reading, traveling, painting, cooking, meditating, fashion and modeling, dancing and tennis.
Lisa and Samalia will join Corlina On Porras (Costa Rica), Genesis Margarita Fuentes Bolaños (El Salvador), Gabriela Vanessa Salazar Valle (Honduras), Samantha Gutíerrez Gónzalez-Rubio (Mexico), Yuliset Laguna (Nicaragua) and Maria Saavedra (Panama) on the night of Thursday, August 6th for a night of pageantry and beauty. All eight delegates are vying for the crown and title of Reina de La Costa Maya®, a title currently held by Miss Mexico Elisa Gomez.
Upon arrival on July 29th to La Isla Bonita, the eight ladies will be facing a full itinerary of fun activities. Fido’s Courtyard will be hosting the beauties on the first night of their arrival, and the public is invited to come on down and mingle with the lovely girls before they begin their rounds of preparations for the pageant.
All eight beauties will be hosted at Ramon’s Village Resort, which will also be holding the much-anticipated Noche Sanpedrana on their gorgeous beachfront. The eight beauties will be modeling and presenting their cultural costumes (judged separately), then mingle with the guests, capturing their hearts before the main event. There will be tours and water activities, as well as photo shoots/calls along with much practice for a spectacular pageant night on Thursday, August 6th. Pageant night will be most spectacular, with a gorgeous Carnival theme bringing costumes, color and glamour to the stage. Entertainment will be provided by Mexican Dance Troupe Ballet Alma Caribeña and The Belize Dance Company. After the announcement of the winner, the audience is invited to stay for the fun after party with DJ Smallz!
Friday, August 7th will bring culture and music to attendees. After the gates open at 7PM, official ceremonies start at 8:30PM, with the official flag dance. Bringing fabulous cultural presentations onstage will be the Ballet Alma Caribeña, as well as the ever wonderful Belize Dance Company. The mighty GILHARRY 7 Band will be bringing the best of Belizean music, and Honduras’ El Chevo will add spice to the mix.
Saturday will see entertainment galore, courtesy of Grupo Crash from El Salvador and Guatemalan Cultural dance group. Throwing some Rock music into the mix is the Belizean band Almost 7. They will then be followed by the highly anticipated Grupo Ladron!
