The San Pedro House of Culture is featuring an exhibition on the history of The San Pedro Sun Newspaper. The exhibit was launched on Friday, October 14th and celebrates the island newspaper’s 25th anniversary. Residents and visitors gathered at the SPHC on Angel Coral Street at 7PM to check out the exhibit detailing the evolution of the paper.
Before unveiling the exhibition, Tamara Sniffin, Owner and Editor, welcomed everyone to the event, encouraging them to take in the sights of the old issues, to marvel at the methods used once upon a time to ensure the island received its newspaper weekly. Also speaking at the event was Eileen Jamison, former owner of the paper who shared some words, expressing gratitude to the gathered crowd, and thanking the community for having welcomed the paper so warmly.
The exhibit showcases everything from the start of the newspaper when it used to be called the Coconut Wireless to its transition into The San Pedro Sun in 1991.
Everyone is invited to visit the SPHC and enjoy the history of The San Pedro Sun. The exhibit will run until the first week of November and is open for free viewing from 8AM to 5PM.
