Forest Department Successfully Captures of Jaguar in Southern Belize

On Monday, December 28, 2020, the Forest Department with support from the Belize Zoo and the Ya’axche Conservation Trust responded to a report of a young male jaguar which was captured in Pine Hills, Toledo District. The jaguar was successfully relocated to the Belize Zoo. The Forest Department recognizes that the livelihood and safety of people are important, and we continue to work along with farmers to prevent any further attacks by jaguars on livestock.

Annual Groundhog Day Charity Poker Run

Palapa closed its doors at 7pm for the private concert, which ended promptly at 9pm. The space was packed with excited fans who enjoyed every moment of Walker’s performance.

San Pedro Town welcomes 2020 in grand style with international entertainment

The island tradition of welcoming a new year with grand fanfare drew hundreds of islanders and visitors to the Central Park on Tuesday, December 31st for the big countdown. The annual celebration organized by The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) included formalities, a spectacular fireworks display, lots to eat and drink, and the performance of Grupo Montana from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.
