The Government of Belize Hosts the Belize -Taiwan Agriculture Investment Mission

Belmopan. October 21, 2019. The Government of Belize, through the Ministry with responsibility for Investment, Trade and Commerce, along with the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), continues its partnership with the Republic of China (Taiwan) through the second investment mission under the theme, “The Belize Agricultural Investment Mission”.

The Mission, which includes delegates visiting from both Taiwan and the Taiwanese Community in North America, is scheduled to take place from October 20th to 26th and commenced with a handing over of funds ceremony on Friday, October 11th, 2019 at the Belize Training & Employment Centre (BTEC).

The first investment mission under the theme, “The Belize Tourism Investment Mission” was successfully executed in June 2019, the objectives of both missions are to:

I. Increase Foreign Exchange;

II. Increase employment via Greenfield Investments;

III. Sustain and add employment via Joint-Ventures with Established Companies;

IV. Increase Revenues to the Government of Belize, such as Tax Contributions;

V. Transfer of Skillsets and Technology;

VI. Strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

This investment mission, concentrating on the agricultural industry, will provide opportunities for insights and strategic investments through tailored meetings and site visits with key industry executives and decision-makers in both the public and private sector, matching the needs and interests of the delegates.

The Government of Belize is committed to strengthening its efforts to increase interests in Belize as an investment destination through regional integration and openness to trade and investment.
