Chair of Integrity Commission Sworn-in for Second Term

On July 22, 2020 at the Belize House in Belmopan, Mrs. Deshawn Arzu Torres was sworn-in as the chair of the Integrity Commission for a second term by the Governor General H.E. Sir Colville Young.

Mrs. Torres is an attorney-at-law and founding partner of Mckoy Torres LLP. She earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) from the Cayman Islands Law School, University of Liverpool in 2003, and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom in 2004.

She co-chairs the Social Security (Appeals) Tribunal and is a director of the National Bank of Belize. She has also served as a member of the Liquor Licensing Board (Belize District), and Trade Licensing Board (Belize District).

Mrs. Torres was first appointed to the position on June 1st, 2018 for a two-year period.
