Belize and Taiwan Sign 2021-2025 MOU on Bilateral Cooperation

On March 10, 2021, Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration of Belize, and H.E. Remus Li-Kuo Chen, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), co-signed the 2021-2025 memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Bilateral Cooperation between the Government of Belize and Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at Laing Building in Belize City.
This MOU succeeds the 2017-2020 agreement and is complementary to the long-standing development cooperation programme between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Belize.
In the spirit of enhancing the mutual interest, and based upon their shared core values and warmly cherished diplomatic ties, the two governments are committed to deepening cooperation and collaboration in areas such as public health, agriculture, trade, education, women’s empowerment, and environment for safeguarding the wellness and welfare of the peoples of both countries and driving sustainable development through the said MOU over the next five years.
