BTB Donates Nissan Frontier To The BDF

The Belize Tourism Board, through its Industry Development Department (IDD), donated a 2023 Nissan Frontier Pick-Up Truck to the Belize Defense Force (BDF). The vehicle was delivered during the official handing-over ceremony held on August 17, 2022 at the BDF Price Barracks compound in Ladyville.

Ministry of Agriculture and Taiwan ICDF Organize Sheep and Goat Slaughtering and Nutrition Management Workshop

In an effort to drive the Belizean sheep and goat industry forward, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) in collaboration with the Taiwan ICDF Breeding Sheep and Goat Production and Guidance System Enhancement Project (Sheep Project Phase II), hosted a Sheep and Goat Slaughtering and Nutrition Management Workshop at the Drift Inn & Aguada Hotel in Santa Elena, Cayo District from August 15 to 17, 2022.

Girl Powered Leadership Camp 2022

On August 12, 2022, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Transport, through the Department of Youth Services (DYS), concluded its first-ever Girl Powered Leadership Camp. The two-week camp was hosted at the Youth with a Mission campus in Roaring Creek Village, Cayo District, and was split into two cohorts: the first for girls aged 14-17 and the second for young women aged 18-22, with each group attending a week consecutively. A total of 80 participants from across Belize attended.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Transport Visits Guatemala

During his visit to Guatemala City, Minister Ferguson met with H.E. César Guillermo Castillo Reyes, Vice-President of Guatemala. They discussed cross-border transport relations and exchanged views on the potential of reciprocal transport services. A commitment was made to explore new areas within the transportation sector for the mutual benefit of both countries. Congressman Cesar Fion of Peten also participated in this meeting.

GOB Receives Second Disbursement of the 2022 Bilateral Cooperation Grant

On August 3, 2022, Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment, received a grant from H. E. David Kuan-Chou Chien, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), in the amount of US$950,000. This represents the second disbursement under the 2022 Bilateral Cooperation Program between Belize and Taiwan.

The Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics and E-Governance, through its Energy Unit, convened an initial Energy Policy Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on August 4, 2022. The workshop took place at the Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza in Belize City.
