Suspension of All Lotteries including Games of Chance and Government Lotteries
The Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce, as the Ministry responsible for Lotteries, informs the public that due to the state of emergency in place in response to COVID-19, all lotteries, including games of chance and Government Lotteries (Boledo, Jackpot and Ordinary), are suspended until further notice.

The COVID-19 Unemployment Relief Program
The co-chairs of the COVID-19 National Oversight Committee, the Rt Hon. Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, agreed on March 16, 2020, to establish the Economic Oversight Team (EOT) comprising Dr. Carla Barnett and Mr. Christopher Coye, to, among other things, oversee the establishment and operationalization of the Unemployment Relief Program.

National State of Emergency declared for Belize; Prime Minister addresses the nation
With a 30-day nationwide state of emergency declared to begin April 1st, Belize's Prime Minister held a press conference detailing financial, health and security plans. PM Barrow also spoke of the possibility of assisting those confined to Ambergris Caye to return to their mainland homes.

Agri-Food Response and Mitigation to COVID-19 Stakeholders Meeting
The meeting established two stakeholder working groups. The purpose of the first working group, the COVID- 19 Awareness Campaign Group, is to sensitize the sector’s work force and the public of the steps being taken to ensure the continuity of food supplies. The second working group, the COVID-19 Food Supply Monitoring Committee, will ensure balance of domestic supply with exports and imports. Both groups are comprised of key stakeholders from the Government, the Opposition, and the private sector.

Change in the Pump Price of Fuel Effective March 25, 2020
The Ministry of Finance announces that on Wednesday, March 25th, the pump price for diesel will decrease by 99 cents from $9.24 to $ 8.25 per gallon. The prices for premium gasoline, regular gasoline, and kerosene will remain unchanged at $10.92, $10.23, and $6.62 per gallon, respectively.
