On Friday, October 18th, the Ministry of National Security (Defense) hosted the 5th Annual Multinational Security Cooperation Conference at the Grand Caribe Belize Suites & Residences in San Pedro Town.

Changes in Prices of Fuel Products
The prices for Premium Gasoline and Diesel will register increases while Regular Gasoline will register a decrease as follows: Premium Gasoline will increase by 38 cents from $10.59 to $10.97 per gallon; Regular Gasoline will decrease by 22 cents from $10.27 to $10.05 per gallon; and Diesel will increase by 8 cents from $10.01 to $10.09 per gallon. The price for Kerosene will remain unchanged at $7.42 per gallon.

Ministry of National Security Inaugurates Joint Interagency Information Security System
The Ministry of National Security officially inaugurated its Joint Interagency Information Security System (JIISS) during a ceremony at the Ministry of National Security Compound in Belmopan. JIISS is a state-of-the-art, geospatial reporting program designed to gather data to assist security forces on their patrols.

$750k grants from US Embassy to support good governance in Belize
The U.S. Embassy in Belize announced the recipients of the 2019 Central America Regional Security Initiative, Economic Support Fund (CARSI ESF) grants during an award ceremony on Wednesday, October 9th. The three grants, totaling $750,000 USD, support good governance and using civil society engagement to strengthen government effectiveness.
