“Catch Up Campaign” underway with SP PolyClinic II
Friday, July 15th, 2011
Four nurses from the San Pedro PolyClinic II took to the streets of San Pedro July 14th – July 16th. The is part of the “Catch Up Campaign”, wherein children are vaccinated to keep up to date with their immunization schedule. Nurse Kelly explained that many times, parents bring their newborn for initial vaccinations, and then fall short. The “Catch Up Campaign” is the local nurses’ effort to assure that all the island’s children be fully immunized to prevent any childhood diseases.
The children being targeted range from newborns to five-year-olds. This time around, the campaign targeted the areas of DFC, Boca del Rio, San Pedrito and San Mateo. Kudos to Nurses Lezel Calletano, Shawmela Kelly, Nurse Yvonne Haylock and Nurse Brunilda Hilton for their show of dedication and going the extra mile in immunizing the island’s children.
