Share

In a small ceremony held on December 23rd in Benque Viejo Town, the Minster of Health and Wellness, Hon. Michel Chebat, unveiled the new name of the Mopan Polyclinic. This health facility will now be referred to as the Drs. Kevin and Kenneth Guerra Polyclinic II.
The Ministry renamed the polyclinic in honor of both doctors who recently passed away, one day apart, due to complications of COVID-19. Dr. Kevin worked at the Placencia Health Center and Dr. Kenneth worked at the San Ignacio Community Hospital. They were originally from Benque Viejo Town. As a validation of true appreciation, the only public health facility in that town was renamed in their honor.
Minster Chebat spoke in the presence of the immediate family of the doctors and staff of the polyclinic. He expressed the outpouring of appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the people of Belize for the contribution and impact both doctors had in providing truly caring and dedicated health service to patients.
The Minister of Health said, “The Government of Belize, the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the citizens of Belize are indebted to Drs. Kevin and Kenneth Guerra.”
The Drs. Kevin and Kenneth Guerra Polyclinic II offers outpatient services for acute and chronic illnesses and family and community health services, including prenatal care, postnatal care and child health. The facility is equipped to provide urgent medical care and will soon be providing COVID-19 testing services as part of the expansion of testing countrywide.
