Elizabeth Grace Sánchez was crowned Miss San Pedro 2026 on August 29th, emerging victorious from a field of four delegates during the annual pageant held at the Saca Chispas Field. Under the vibrant theme “¡Que Viva el Carnaval!”, Sánchez competed alongside Samantha Ayala, Kami Valencio, and Bessy Gonzalez before a live audience and panel of judges. The colorful event kicked off at 8PM and featured a series of pageant segments, entertainment, and carnaval-inspired presentations.

Queen of the Bay Delegates Visit San Pedro Ahead of 81st Pageant
On August 27th, seven Queen of the Bay delegates, accompanied by reigning Queen Samantha Ramirez, visited San Pedro for the first time in nearly 20 years ahead of the 81st annual Queen of the Bay Pageant, set for August 29th. During their island visit, the group met with Senator Gabriel Zetina over coffee, toured the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, and enjoyed lunch and recreational activities at The Water Park at Secret Beach.

The celebration also coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Miss World organization, with more than 120 delegates expected to participate. Representing the Jewel is Miss World Belize Faith Edgar, who graced the stage with striking elegance, poise, and confidence.

The Miss Universe Belize 2026 delegates arrived in San Pedro on August 10th, touching down aboard Maya Island Air and receiving a traditional Garifuna drumming welcome. The island will host the national pageant for the first time. That evening at 7PM, a meet-and-greet at Mahogany Bay Village Resort kicked off pageant week, allowing residents and visitors to meet and interact with the contestants ahead of the pageant on August 15th, also at Mahogany Bay.

San Pedro’s Queen of the Bay Candidate Promotes Self-Worth Through ‘Embrace Her Belize’
This year’s Miss Queen of the Bay San Pedro, 17-year-old Zsaphirrah (Safira) Coleman, who was crowned and sashed on June 27th, has already launched a community-focused platform as she prepares for the Belize Queen of the Bay Pageant on August 29th. Coleman, who studies architecture at Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College in Corozal, recently hosted a weeklong girls' camp on the island as part of her Embrace Her Belize initiative.
