Share

It was an evening of elegance, poise, and beauty at the official sashing ceremony that officially introduced the 2023 Miss San Pedro Pageant candidates vying for the crown. The event, attended by many guests and supporters, was held on Trigger Fish Street, next to El Fogon Restaurant, on Wednesday, June 7th. The five contestants aspiring to be San Pedro’s next beauty ambassador delighted those in attendance with their presence and presentations, including a fashion show. This year’s beauty contestants include Vivian Noralez, Ileny Aguilar, Herla Ortiz, Gabby Lopez, and Mariel Calderon.
The event started just after 7PM, with Master of Ceremonies Gerry Badillo and current Miss San Pedro 2022-2023 Faith Edgar welcoming everyone in attendance. The contestants and sponsors were commended for keeping the tradition alive as the journey began to select a new queen for the island. Afterward, each one of the girls took to the stage, modeling beautiful outfits designed by Belizean fashion designer Cesar Funez.
The next segment saw the delegates introducing themselves to the audience. Many of their remarks were emotional. Some contestants shared their societal struggles, thanked those who helped them along the way, and encouraged others never to give up and work hard for their goals.

Representatives from Castillo’s Hardware, Ramon’s Village, Suya Tours, Remax Belize, and Caribeña Enterprises handpicked their contestants’ names from a jar. The audience applauded and cheered as they posed with their sponsors. Following the sashing ceremony, the girls’ preparation for the highest pageant crown on the island started.
Miss San Pedro 2022-2023 Faith Edgar closed the event by thanking everyone for their support and El Fogon Restaurant hosting the ceremony. She wished the five young ladies all the best at the pageant to be held on June 30th. No further details have been shared about the pageant. Information on tickets to attend the event at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex can be obtained at the San Pedro
Town Council on Barrier Reef Drive.
