Miss World Belize Faith Edgar received a vibrant homecoming on September 19th as she returned to San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, following her historic participation in the Miss World pageant in Vietnam. Family, friends, local officials, and residents warmly greeted Edgar at the Tropic Air terminal, gathering to congratulate the island beauty queen on representing Belize on the international stage.
Shortly after 5PM, Edgar arrived in San Pedro and was greeted with a hug from Miss San Pedro Elizabeth Grace Sanchez, followed by Mayor Gualberto “Wally” Nuñez and many family members and friends. Carrying bouquets and waving the Belizean flag, Edgar joined members of the San Pedro Marching Band, who welcomed her home with lively drumming and dancing.
Miss San Pedro Queen of the Bay Zsaphirrah Coleman also greeted Edgar and congratulated her on her performance at Miss World. Edgar said representing Belize was a memorable experience and one she will never forget. She thanked everyone who supported her throughout her journey to Vietnam, where she proudly showcased Belize and earned recognition for her hard work.
Edgar made history at the 73rd Miss World Pageant, held on September 5th in Nha Trang, Vietnam, after securing a place in the Top 40. She advanced after winning the “Beauty with a Purpose” challenge for the Americas and Caribbean region. Her achievement made Edgar the second Belizean contestant to place at the Miss World Pageant.
The recognition came through her “Smiles for Belize” initiative, which aims to improve access to dental care and oral health education in communities across Belize. Edgar described the achievement as a significant moment for the country. She also reflected on how her passion for dentistry has grown over the past five years, adding that she plans to pursue it with pride, dedication, and purpose.
The pageant featured contestants from 111 countries. Official activities began on August 9th and included several social and cultural events across Vietnam ahead of the grand finale.
Edgar’s Top 40 finish and regional “Beauty with a Purpose” win marked a significant achievement for the San Pedro beauty queen as she proudly represented Belize on the Miss World stage.
