San Pedro Police have yet to make an arrest for an incident along the Secret Beach Road that ended with the rape of a young lady. The 37-year-old woman reported to police on April 7th three men in a golf cart offered her a ride, but later she was attacked and raped by the trio.
The official police report said that the victim was walking on the Secret Beach, northwest of San Pedro Town, around 7:15PM when three men offered her a ride in a golf cart. She remembered the color of the golf cart being blue and bearing the number ’22’ on the side. The report states that the young lady accepted the ride, and upon reaching the tower area, all three males dragged her into the bushes and raped her. The woman made it back to town at 8:40PM and made the report at the San Pedro Police Station.
A police investigation began, with officers canvassing the area for any leads. However, a week later, no one has been detained for the crime. The victim provided police with every detail she could remember from the attackers, but they remain at large. Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of these individuals is asked to visit the police station on Pescador Drive or call 206-2022.
The Secret Beach area is about 4.5 miles north of San Pedro and is one of the island’s most popular spots. While it is fast developing, a large portion of the dirt road leading to this popular beach area is yet to count with proper lighting. As such, police advise anyone on this road at night to exercise caution and make a report in case of any incidents.
