Belize Defense Force changes uniform to a digital camouflage
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011
The Belize Defense Force recently changed their uniforms. They are no longer using American type camouflage uniforms. Lieutenant Colonel James Requeña, acting Chief of Staff for the BDF is quoted as saying that the American camouflage is widely accessible amongst civilians, which makes it an obstacle faced when BDF are enforcing the law. The new “digital camouflage” battle dress uniform is exclusively made for the BDF and can be traced back more accurately should the uniform be worn by civilians.
Only authorized personnel of the BDF should be in possession of such type of uniform. While there was no official announcement about the major change in uniform, the new uniform came into effect on October 15th.
