Belize Athletes bring home 8 medals

Press Release – The Belize Amateur Athletic Association – September 20th 2010 – The Belize Amateur Athletic Association is proud to welcome back the athletes that represented Belize at the 21st Central American Championships of Athletics in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Even though participation at the meet was at one point in jeopardy, due to financial constraints on the new Executive, and despite the long and difficult journey, by bus, the team endured and persevered. The end results are nothing short of impressive; seven (7) athletes, accompanied by the B.A.A.A President, all performed admirably and exceeded expectations, winning a total of eight (8) medals (3 Gold, 3 Silver & 2 Bronze) and proving that Belizean Athletes are always contenders if given a chance.

The Association once again congratulates Team Belize for their efforts, sacrifices and stellar representation of our country and urges the community to support the athletes that keep making our country proud.
