AM Construction Company Limited to head Ambergris Stadium Renovations

On Monday, September 7th, Belize Infrastructure Limited (BIL) announced that AM Construction Company Limited will be undertaking the construction of Ambergris Stadium, now renamed the San Pedro Football Field. The construction contract was awarded to the Orange Walk based firm for $2,623,911.95BZ. The renovation of the stadium has been in the pipeline for over a year, and will now finally move forward to the construction phase.Ambergris Stadium Contract Signing (2)
Pre-construction work on the field grounds started on Thursday, July 9th with the demolition of the existing structures. Now that the contract has been signed, construction was expected to start on Friday, September 4th.Ambergris Stadium plans
The vision of BIL is for the project to include a regulation grass pitch, bleachers to seat 800, locker facilities, concession stands, bathroom facilities and a storage unit. Once completed, the field will be the only proper football pitch on the island and will benefit the development of the sport in the island. The contract was signed by BIL General Manager, Christy Mastry and AM General Contract, Agusto Blanco.
