Saturday, July 23rd, 2016

Action Twenty 24 is back in San Pedro hosting their 5th annual Sports Ministry Summer Camp. The one week camp started on Monday, July 18th and culminated on Friday, July 22nd. Campers had the opportunity to learn skills in football, volleyball, basketball and baseball. Held in collaboration with Lighthouse Christian Radio, the camp hosted over 40 children ages 6-13 each morning at the New Horizon Seventh Day Adventist School, and in the afternoon at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium.Action 24 Summer Camp-3
According to camp organizer Chris Bonnett, one focus of the camp is to teach children great sportsmanship. “Our emphasis is on sports, as well as leadership skills. We teach the campers how to come together as a team, and work together effectively. We just want to show them how to love someone they don’t know and be respectful. I think with the word of God and leadership skills, they will make better decisions as they get older,” said Bonnet.Action 24 Summer Camp-2
Bonnet, along with his wife Amy, and 24 volunteers of Weatherford, Texas and Mississippi USA came to accomplish their missionary work by hosting a successful camp. “We love to come to San Pedro, and we have plans to continue coming back. The children are humble, and we know that they have the potential to be the future leaders of tomorrow,” said Bonnet.

Action Twenty 24 would like to thank Clive Welsh, The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC), Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Roberto Sabido, and the entire San Pedro community for their continuous support.
Action Twenty 24 has a great vision for the children in San Pedro, and is currently fundraising to build a community center on the island. Since their fundraising goal is $200,000, the ministry is seeking monetary donations to initiate the project. If you would like to donate, you may contact Bonnet via email at [email protected]
