Softball marathon champion to be determined this weekend

A softball marathon held on Sunday, September 30th saw four teams at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex battling for the top spot. Team Xtreme, Quality Reef, San Pedro High School (SPHS), and Team RCGO, entertained a crowd of softball fans, who from as early as 10AM, filled the sporting arena to support their favorite team. After countless matches, RCGO and Quality Reef won the top team positions, and they will now compete for the grand trophy prize on Sunday, October 7th.
The first game saw Quality Reef falling against Xtreme 16-15. This was followed by the second match between SPHS and RCGO. The game was tight, but RCGO walked away with the 4-3 victory. Quality Reef once again took to the pitch to face RCGO. Quality came determined to win, but they fell 7-3 against RCGO.
SPHS and Team Xtreme played two games back to back in the following matches. In the first game, SPHS beat Xtreme 9-5, and during the second and fifth game for the day, the students had a solid 7-0 victory.
The championship game between RCGO and Quality Reef could not take place due to time constraints, the sixth and final game of the marathon was scheduled for this coming Sunday.
The marathon is the official opening to the upcoming San Pedro Town Council’s Co-ed Softball Tournament. The tournament will take place every Sunday, starting right after the marathon championship game this weekend.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support their favorite teams.
