The San Pedro Pirates fell to fourth place in the Premier League of Belize (PLB) standings after a 3–0 defeat to Progresso on Sunday, October 18th, in Orange Walk Town.
The island team had defeated Progresso 2–0 in San Pedro on August 15th. However, Progresso reversed that result, taking control early in the match.
Keydenshay Bowen opened the scoring for Progresso in the 14th minute with a header. The Pirates pushed for an equalizer and came close shortly after conceding, but neither team scored again before halftime, leaving Progresso with a 1–0 lead.
Progresso maintained its attacking approach in the second half, limiting the Pirates’ opportunities. Following a scramble in the penalty area, Jaheim Mena found the back of the net in the 73rd minute to double his team’s lead.
