The San Pedro finals of the Belikin Stout National 8-Ball Tournament concluded on July 26th at Casey’s Boatyard Bar and Grill, where One Shot One Kill defeated the San Pedro Sharks 5-0 to claim the local championship. The victory secured One Shot One Kill’s place in the national championship, scheduled for Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd, at the Andres Campus Civic Center in Corozal, with play beginning each day at 9AM.

Belize's national men's volleyball team made history on July 15th after capturing the gold medal at the Central American Men's Final Four (AFECAVOL) tournament in San José, Costa Rica. Following a hard-fought championship match against host nation Costa Rica, the Belizean squad claimed the regional title with a 3-1 victory (25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 25-21).

Team Belize Ready to Compete at 2026 Commonwealth Games
Belize is set to compete at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23rd to August 2nd. Five athletes will represent the Jewel in three disciplines: athletics, cycling, and swimming. This marks Belize's 15th appearance at the Commonwealth Games. During that time, only three athletes from San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, have participated in the prestigious event.

Kids Learn Beach Volleyball at Free Summer Camp
The San Pedro Volleyball Association is encouraging more children to take advantage of its free beach volleyball summer camp as the program enters its second week. The four-day camp, held at Boca del Rio Beach on July 14, 16, 21, and 23, is designed to introduce young people to the sport and help them develop athletic skills, teamwork, and healthy habits during the summer break.
