Island Football Youth League ends with two champions
On Sunday, May 7th, the football teams Young Stars FC and Benifica FC became champions in the U-15 and U-17 divisions, respectively, following the San Pedro Football Youth League championship games. The tournament saw eight teams competing to be the best in each category while developing their talents in the sport.

Island Academy girls place 4th at NSC national basketball championships
The Island Academy girls of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye placed 4th at the national primary school's basketball championship organized by the National Sports Council at the Russell “Chiste” Garcia auditorium on Friday, April 28, where they represented as the Belize district champions. Minister of State for Sports Hon. Gilroy Usher Sr delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremonies.

PLB’s Closing Season semi-finals remain on hold
There will be no games in the semi-finals of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) closing championship for the second week. The playoffs were placed on hold after an appeal was launched against the PLB’s decision to award team Verdes three points from a game that was to be played against the San Pedro Pirates on April 8th. The Appeals Committee of the Football Federation turned down PLB’s ruling. The Appeals Committee remitted their decision to the PLB Disciplinary Committee for further hearing, but a decision has not been announced when the closing season will resume.

One of them is San Pedro Pirates, who, after overcoming Benque United over the weekend, will be traveling to Belize City on Saturday, April 29th, to face Port Layola.

San Pedro Pirates remain in the PLB closing season
After announcing their withdrawal from the Premier League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season, the San Pedro Pirates decided to travel to Belize City on Sunday, April 16th, to play against Port Layola. The match was no easy feat for the island boys, who returned to San Pedro with a 2-2 draw after an intense play at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex.
