Local basketball tournament starts in San Pedro

Island basketball fans can now enjoy weekly sporting action with the start of the San Pedro Basketball Tournament. The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC), San Pedro Sports Committee and the San Pedro Basketball Association organized the tournament's first three matches on Sunday, April 16th, at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium. According to the committee, ten teams are competing in the Under-19 and Open (19 and up) categories.

FFB Signs contract with VIVIDARCH

In 2021, the Football Federation of Belize, on the advice of FIFA started working on the Phase “Zero” project for the engagement of the services of an architectural firm for the creation of a well-organized and homogenous infrastructure end product that originates from a master plan and design for the FFB. On May 2021, the FFB Executive approved the Phase “Zero” project and on September 2021, VIVIDARCH won the bid to do the architectural concepts, designs and drawings for the FFB facility.

San Pedro High School once again dominates the NSSSA national softball competition

San Pedro Town has always excelled in sports, and the San Pedro High School (SPHS) has contributed significantly by winning championships at the district and national levels. One of those disciplines is softball, which the island athletes continue to master. During the recent 2023 National Secondary School Sports Association (NSSSA) softball nationals, the SPHS male team (The Sharks) faced the best secondary schools from across the country, emerging victorious at the end of the challenging two-day tournament.
