Island Emergency Services is now offering free services to Belizeans

The management and team of Island Emergency Services (IES) has announced that its ambulance services are now free of charge for Belizeans on the island. IES is a private 24-hour emergency company funded by Mr. Abner Bacab, and it is equipped with ambulances to respond to medical emergencies on the island. This decision comes from IES’ commitment to the well-being, health, and wellness of all local community members and providing professional, pre-hospital care for those in need.

On Wednesday, February 21st, all nine municipal slates nationwide were officially nominated as the municipal elections draw closer. Known as Nomination Day, in San Pedro, the People's United Party (PUP) and the United Democratic Party (UDP) slate were nominated with great excitement at the Town Hall. The day also saw the participation of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Abner Bacab, who was nominated as an independent mayoral candidate.

San Pedro members of the Belize Coast Guard undergo first responder training

A group of eight members from the Belize Coast Guard (BCG) based in San Pedro Town recently underwent a two-day training to learn basic first aid and life support techniques from the Island Emergency Services (IES) crew. The training covered Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid Kit, and an introduction to advanced knowledge of the duties expected from first responders and other medical skills. The training took place from February 11th to February 13th at the BCG base south of Ambergris Caye and was free of charge.

Island Emergency Services donate first-aid kits to first responders agencies in San Pedro

Island Emergency Services (IES) management has donated valuable first-aid kits to other responder agencies in San Pedro Town. The island-based ambulance company indicated that this is one of the many ways to collaborate with their island counterparts and help distribute essential equipment that can enhance the safety of islanders.

Island Emergency Services celebrates first anniversary

From the moment islander Abner Bacab became a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), he grew a project that later became Island Emergency Services (IES). The company, equipped with an ambulance, responds to medical emergencies on the island. On Sunday, April 10th, Bacab and his team celebrated their first anniversary in service with a health and family fair at the Boca del Rio beach park to commemorate this achievement.
