Belize Receives Hurricane Lisa Relief Funds from the Republic of Lithuania

As part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration to engage with its bilateral and multilateral partners in securing Hurricane Lisa relief, Belize received a cheque for the equivalent of 20,000 Euros from the people and Government of Lithuania on January 19, 2023.

Belize and Japan Hold First Bilateral Consultation

Belize and Japan held their first bilateral consultation on January 11, 2023. The meeting provided an opportunity for the two countries to review the state of play of the bilateral relations inclusive of regional and global developments that influence the relationship.

Belize Receives Donation of Hurricane Relief Funds and Vehicles from the Republic of Korea

Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, received, on behalf of the Government of Belize, humanitarian assistance from the people and Government of the Republic of Korea. The donation of US$100,000 to the World Food Programme (WFP) was handed over by H.E. Sung-min Jang, Senior Secretary for Policy Coordination and Planning, Office of the President.

Belize and El Salvador Host Second Binational Commission Meeting

On December 2, 2022, the governments of Belize and the Republic of El Salvador held the Second Binational Commission Meeting at the vice-ministerial level, with the purpose of strengthening the political, economic and cooperation relations between both countries.

Belize Receives Donation of Hurricane Relief Supplies from Mexico

As recovery efforts continue across the Belize District following the landfall of Hurricane Lisa on November 2, 2022, the Government of Belize, through its bilateral and multilateral partners, has received aid to assist persons impacted by the storm. On November 16, 2022, Belize received a donation of relief supplies from the National Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Services of Chetumal.

Panama’s Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visits Belize

On July 14, 2022, H.E. Ana Luisa Castro Novey, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, arrived in Belize with her delegation for an official visit. During the visit, Vice Minister Castro Novey met with Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, to discuss our bilateral relations and cooperation affairs as well as regional political matters.

Third Handing Over Ceremony for the Beneficiaries of the Empowerment Project in Belize

On June 2, 2022, Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; H.E David Kuan-Chou Chien, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize; H.E. Rossana Briceño, Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children; and other invited guests gathered for the third handing over ceremony to the beneficiaries of the project, “Enhancing the Economic Empowerment of Women in Latin America and the Caribbean in the COVID-19 Post-Pandemic Era: Technical Assistance for Women Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Financial Inclusion”.

MFA Receives Donation from Taiwan

On August 20, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration received two utility vehicles from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) as part of the deliverables of the regional support programme “Strengthening of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Central American Countries.”
