The Minister of the Blue Economy and Civil Aviation Hon. Andre Perez was quick to respond to allegations being circulated under the guise of fake profiles on social media.

Belize’s General Elections are to be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Belizeans will head to the polls to elect their chosen constituent (new or incumbent) to fill 31 seats in the House of Representatives. Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker and St. George’s Caye form the Belize Rural South (BRS) constituency. As such, The San Pedro Sun takes this opportunity to present the candidates vying to win the post of BRS Area Representative. Thomas Greenwood Jr. is running under the Belize People’s Front (BPF), while Andre Perez is running under the People’s United Party (PUP), and incumbent Manuel Heredia Jr. is from the United Democratic Party (UDP). Of the three candidates, Greenwood and Perez submitted their answers to our questions, while incumbent candidate was unable to meet our print deadline.

As previously declared, the People’s United Party (PUP) saw thousands of its supporters come out on Sunday, February 23rd to participate in their anti-corruption demonstration in Belize City.

An official ceremony was held in Caye Caulker Village on Thursday, February 13th for the inauguration of the People’s United Party (PUP) Office.

The Belize Rural South (BRS) People’ s United Party (PUP) standard-bearer, Andre Perez donated a much-needed air conditioner and two printers/scanners to the San Pedro Police Department on Wednesday, June 5th.

Area Representative for Belize Rural South (BRS), Honourable Manuel Heredia Jr., is confident that his constituency will vote ‘Yes’ to taking the territorial dispute with Guatemala to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the upcoming national referendum scheduled for April 10, 2019.
