On Saturday, December 7th, a fire broke out on Barracuda Street, near the lagoon side of the Boca del Rio area, destroying a small wooden structure. The fire ignited just before 5PM and quickly consumed the building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

San Pedro Lions Club raises over $4K for DFC fire victims

To continue assisting families in the DFC area who lost everything in a fire on November 19th, the San Pedro Lions Club donated over $4,000 to the victims on Wednesday, December 4th. These funds were raised during a barbecue sale and dollar drive held on November 27th at their Den on Barrier Reef Drive.

The San Pedro Fire Department is investigating a fire that consumed a wooden structure with zinc roofing a few hours before dawn on Thursday, September 2nd, in the DFC area south of San Pedro Town. The gutted structure served as a small grocery shop, and although it was near other buildings, the blaze was extinguished before it could spread. No one was injured, but the material losses are estimated to be over $25,000.

The investigation into the early morning fire at Pedro's Hotel and Inn on May 23rdconcluded to be arson. According to the San Pedro Fire Department, arson was the main suspicion because the area where the fire started shows it was started deliberately.
