August Blood Drive Yields 18 Pints
On Saturday, August 2nd, the San Pedro Community Blood Drive Group held a successful blood drive at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II, collecting 18 pints of blood. The local blood drive group organizes regular drives to help build the supply at the national blood bank. Saturday’s event, held from 8AM to 2:30PM, saw many prospective donors making their way to the polyclinic to be screened for eligibility.

Community Comes Together to Support Quarterly Blood Drives
On Saturday, July 26th, the San Pedro Community Blood Drive Group hosted a dinner and raffle to raise funds to support their upcoming quarterly blood drive, scheduled for August 2nd at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic II. The “Dip, Dine & Donate” fundraiser was held at Akasha Restaurant, located at the Aruna Resort and Villas. The event began at 1PM, with nearly 100 guests having reserved in advance. Boat transportation was provided, with pickup at the dock in front of Level Up Barcade. The Akasha staff delivered professional and courteous service, taking food and drink orders throughout the day.

Letter to the Editor: Special Thanks for a Successful May 3rd Blood Drive
The San Pedro Community Blood Drive Group wishes to thank all those who came to donate blood at the blood drive held May 3rd at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II. Over 50 members of the Ambergris Caye community came to donate. At the end of the day, 41 pints of life-saving blood were generously donated.

Routine blood drive collects over 40 pints
Residents of San Pedro once again answered the call to support their community by participating in a blood drive on Saturday, May 3rd. The event took place at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II, where 50 individuals turned out to donate. Following evaluations, 41 pints of blood were successfully collected.

Emergency Blood Drive successfully collected dozens of pints of blood
On Saturday, February 1st, many residents of San Pedro answered the call to assist with an emergency blood drive for islander Maria Kumul. The event was held at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II, where nearly 50 individuals showed up to donate. After evaluations, 36 pints of blood were successfully collected.

Members of the Ambergris Caye community generously donated 6 pints of blood, which can can potentially save the lives of up to 18 persons. For our most recent blood drive, the San Pedro Community Blood Drive Group was able to partner with the Washington University of Health and Science. We wish to thank all those who came to donate blood on June 15. Members of the Ambergris Caye community generously donated 18 pints of blood, which can potentially save the lives of up to 54 persons.
