San Pedro welcomes the September Celebrations with a flag-raising ceremony and street festival
San Pedro Town, one of the most patriotic municipalities in Belize, welcomed the month of September with the annual flag-raising ceremony that marks the beginning of a celebration that will honor many key events throughout the month, culminating with Independence Day. The beginning of the September Celebrations on the island also included the first-ever San Pedro Street Fest held on Barrier Reef Drive.

St. George’s Caye Day parade canceled in San Pedro due to freak storm
While the much anticipated and patriotic citizen and uniformed parade to commemorate the 224th anniversary of the Battle of St. George's Caye took place in different cities and towns on the mainland, the event was canceled in San Pedro Town due to a freak storm that battered the island in the early hours of Saturday, September 10th.
