Monitoring the Possibility for Development of a Tropical System Close to Belize

The National Meteorological Services of Belize and the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) are in discussion regarding ongoing computer models which are predicting that a tropical system could develop within our region, close to Belize somewhere near to Honduras/Nicaragua by the weekend or very early next week. The models will be better able to predict the possibility for the development of a tropical system and a projected path between today and the upcoming days.

The 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially closes

Thursday, November 30th marked the end of the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season. A total of 17 named storms formed during the five months of the season.

2017 Hurricane Season is expected to be very active

The 2017 Atlantic Basin Hurricane Season officially started on Thursday, June 1st, and meteorologists are predicting a very active season.
