BTL and BCWU Sign collective bargaining agreement

On Friday, April 30, 2021, the Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) and the Belize Communications Worker’s Union (BCWU) signed a four-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for 229 BTL employees.

In protests, island teachers reject pay cut and call on GOB to collect unpaid taxes from telephone companies

On Friday, April 16th, members of the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) across the country held peaceful protests against the proposed salary cuts set by the Government of Belize (GOB). Teachers also called on GOB to collect overdue taxes from large companies such as Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) and Smart Belize.

Digi Belize Opens new store in San Pedro Town

Digi Belize held a ceremony to officially open their new store in San Pedro Town on Saturday, March 30th. The new Digi Store is located on Coconut Drive inside Wings Plaza.

BTL to donate fire trucks to San Pedro Fire Department

The announcement was made on Wednesday, August 29th by BTL’s Chief Executive Officer Rochus Schreiber, who confirmed to the media that the trucks have already been identified and are expected to be delivered to San Pedro before Christmas.

Ambergris Caye to soon experience the fastest internet connection in Belize

The project will bring fibre-optic submarine cable connectivity to the island, enabling super-fast broadband speeds to residents of San Pedro Town by the beginning of September 2017.
