San Pedro Lions Club installs new board and welcomes new members
The San Pedro Lions Club installed a New Board of Directors on Saturday, August 27th, at a Corona del Mar Hotel ceremony. The installation of the board also saw the welcoming of nine new members to the club. In this new term, the club looks forward to increasing its membership and working on new projects to benefit the island community.

Belize Network of Non-governmental (BNN) incorporates new Board of Directors that will lead on good governance agenda
Since 2016, the Belize Network of NGOs (BNN) has been the unified voice of Non-Governmental Organizations in Belize, advocating for good governance to achieve sustainable human development. On, July 22nd, 2022, the BNN was officially incorporated under the Companies Act. The new Board of Directors, duly elected by BNN members, has been officially installed. The new Board of Directors will serve from 2022-2024 and individually bring a wealth of diverse backgrounds and professional experience in collective service to strengthen the NGO coalition to advocate for good governance. The Board of Directors will also render critical support to the NGO Senator.

BTB says Karen Bevans is no longer their director of tourism
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) confirmed that as of Friday, March 12th, Karen Bevans is no longer their director. Scrutiny followed Bevans after she refused to step down from her post following the government's change in the November 2020 general elections. Bevans, armed with a five-year contract signed with the previous government, tried to remain as Director of Tourism, but on Monday, March 15th BTB announced her departure in a press release.

The new board members include Pamela Zetina as President, Miguel Perez as Vice-President, Wendy Portillo as Secretary, Undina Graniel as Assistant Secretary, and Claudia Miranda as Treasurer.

San Pedro Chapter of Justices of the Peace elect new Board of Directors
After nominations and voting, the new board consists of Clive Welsh remaining as president, Walter Zepeda as the new vice president, Maria Elena Alamilla as treasurer, Ana Ico as secretary, while the new executive members include Delia Pere and Grant Crimmins.

Martin Dawson was elected as the new chairperson of the San Pedro chapter of the Belize Red Cross (SPBRC) on Sunday, January 7th.
