Prime Minister Briceño Joins CARICOM Leaders to Tackle Regional Issues at the 49th Summit
The Prime Minister of Belize, Honorable John Briceño, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Francis Fonseca, attended the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), held from July 6th to the 8th in Montego Bay, Jamaica. This summit, convened under the theme “People, Partnerships, Prosperity: Promoting a Secure and Sustainable Future,” served as a central platform for regional unity and strategic collaboration among Caribbean nations.

Belize Hosts CSME Focal Points Attachment Programme
Belize is hosting the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) Focal Points Attachment Programme, funded under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) ─ “Strengthening the Framework of CARICOM Integration and Cooperation Process” (SFCICP) Programme. The activities, which commenced in Barbados last week, will continue in Belize this week and are slated for replication in other member states in subsequent weeks.

Belize Chairs 30th Special Meeting of COHSOD
Hon. Oscar Requena, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government, chaired the 30th Special Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD), an organ of CARICOM, in Georgetown, Guyana, on May 24. Present at the meeting were Ministers of Labour and heads of delegations from CARICOM member states.

Belize Exports First Shipment of Chicken to CARICOM
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise is pleased to announce that on December 23, 2020, Belize exported 16,000 lbs of assorted chicken meat to Grenada, the first ever shipment of poultry products to the CARICOM region.
