Oceana Belize honors San Pedro’s Jennie Staines with Ocean Hero award

Well-known islander and Chef Jennie Staines was selected as one of Oceana’s Ocean Heroes at their annual award ceremony on Wednesday, September 29th, held virtually due to the pandemic. The second recipient of the prestigious award went to Kevin Andrewin. Oceana recognized both Staines and Andrewin for their invaluable contributions to marine conservation in Belize.

Chef Jennie Staines takes the win at ninth annual cook-off

Tuesday, January 28th, saw the return of Estel’s Dine by the Sea ninth annual BBQ Cook-Off. Eight grill masters participated in finding out who was the best in four different categories: Judges’ Choice, People’s Choice, Grillers’ Choice, and Grand Master. The competition kicked off at noon and concluded shortly before 3PM.

Belize Coast Guard Lieutenant Alma Pinelo receives Honor Graduate Award at US Training Center
