Island Preschoolers Take Part in the 2025 San Pedro Preschool Festival of Arts
The San Pedro Preschool Festival of Arts brought vibrancy and creativity to the Sagebrush Church in San Pedro Town on March 20th. Sponsored by the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, and the Institute of Creative Arts, the event showcased the talents of preschool-aged children through music, dance, drama, and arts and crafts. This celebration marked the beginning of a nationwide tour of artistic performances that will take place over several weeks.

The festivities began on March 3rd this year with a vibrant parade in San Pedro Town. The event brought together preschoolers, teachers, parents, and guardians from various institutions across the island, highlighting the importance of early childhood education.

Miss San Pedro hosts story telling time at the San Pedro Public Library
A storytelling event was held at the San Pedro Public Library in honor of Child Stimulation Month on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 10AM. The event, which ended at noon, included book giveaways, story time, and snacks and was a great time for kids and families to come together under the theme, “Let’s inspire young minds together and create unforgettable memories through the power of stories!” The event was organized by Empow.Her and Miss San Pedro, Mariel Calderon, in collaboration with the Ambergris Caye Rotary Club.

On Friday, March 01st, island preschoolers, along with their teachers, parents, and guardians, celebrated the great significance of early childhood education with a festive and dynamic parade through the main streets of the Ambergris Caye, signaling the start of Child Stimulation Month. This year's activity embraced the "Magic Garden of Skills, Watch Us Bloom" theme.

Every year March is designated Child Stimulation Month, and the event opens with a festive parade with the participation of the island’s pre-schools, parents, and teachers. This year, no such parade occurred due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Still, pre-schools across the island are hosting many activities designed to stimulate the talents and interest of their young students under the theme "We are strong, learning and growing."
