CRFM advises fishers to be prepared and stay vigilant amid forecast for active 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season
The Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) is advising fishers and fishing communities across its seventeen (17) Member States to PREPARE and GET READY as we approach the peak of the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Early preparation and understanding risks are key to reducing loss, damage and injury to fishers and their families.

Belize spared once again during 2019 Hurricane season
On Saturday, November 30th, the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially came to an end with no major storms affecting Belize. The season, which began on June 1st, called for up to 15 named storms, with eight of these becoming hurricanes, including major cyclones ranging from category three and up.

A below average hurricane season predicted for 2019
The season begins on June 1st, and the highly respected team, who has been issuing tropical outlooks for the past 35 years, is predicting a slightly below average forecast with a total of 13 named storms, five hurricanes, including two major storms.
