The Future of the Belize Men’s National Football Team
Following the disappointing loss against Costa Rica in the Gold Cup qualifiers, the senior men's national football team is expected to see significant changes under the new Minister of Sports, the Honourable Anthony Mahler. The national team, known as the Jaguars, suffered a staggering 13-1 defeat in aggregate goals against Costa Rica, which is led by Mexican coach Miguel ‘Piojo’ Herrera. Since the loss, Belizeans have expressed their disappointment in the national team’s performance and are calling for changes. However, the Football Federation of Belize (FFB), through its president, stated on Wednesday, March 26, that there are no major issues within the team, and any minor problems will be addressed.

Belize U-16 Female Football Team’s journey at the UNCAF Tournament comes to an end
The Belize U-16 Female National Team demonstrated their talent and determination at the 2024 UNCAF U-16 Girls Championship, which was held in Managua, Nicaragua. This prestigious tournament featured eight Central American teams, with the U-16 Female National Football Team from Costa Rica securing the championship title. Even though the Belizean squad could not secure a win, the experience served as a means for the young athletes to improve and develop their skills in the international field.

San Pedro footballer, Alysha Reymundo joins Belize U-16 Female National Team at the UNCAF Tournament
Alysha Reymundo, a San Pedrana footballer, will represent her island and country as an Under-16 national football team member. The team is currently in Managua, Nicaragua, competing in the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) championship under the auspices of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for U-16 girls. They will face off against Nicaragua, El Salvador, Cuba, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Panama teams.
