San Pedro Comes Alive for Día de San Pedro 2025 Celebrations

On the evening of June 28th, San Pedro’s Central Park transformed into a vibrant hub of culture and community as the town celebrated Día de San Pedro 2025, honoring St. Peter, the patron saint of the island’s fishermen. The festivities kicked off, drawing locals and visitors alike to a lively street fair brimming with traditional food vendors, colorful performances, and heartfelt ceremonies.

In honor of the traditional celebration of the patron saints, "San Pedro and San Pablo," the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) collaborated with Father Eduardo Montemayor from the Roman Catholic Church in Ambergris Caye to hold their traditional mass known as "Misa de Pescadores." This was followed by a breakfast at 4AM on Saturday, June 29th, at the Catholic church in Central Park. After the breakfast and mass, Father Montemayor led the traditional service and blessed the vessels for the upcoming fishing season. The grand celebration included two days of live entertainment. The Miss San Pedro Pageant, scheduled for June 29th, was postponed due to inclement weather.

Get ready to meet the five official candidates competing for the title of "Miss San Pedro 2024-2025." They will showcase their poise and charm at the upcoming pageant, set to take place at the Louis Sylvester Complex on Saturday, June 29th, during the Dia De San Pedro festivities. It will be a festive night with live entertainment and an extravagant pageant experience as the island crowns the 65th Miss San Pedro. Now accepting applications for Miss San Pedro 2024-2025

Miss San Pedro 2023-2024, Mariel Calderon, would like to invite young ladies between the ages of 17 and 27 to apply for the position of Miss San Pedro 2024-2025. They can do so at the San Pedro Town Council during office hours from 8AM to 5PM.

Dia de San Pedro festivities crown new queen; delights thousands with local and international entertainment

During the 2023 Dia de San Pedro festivities, islanders welcomed a new beauty ambassador. The extravaganza opened with the anticipated Miss San Pedro Pageant on Friday, June 30th. Among the five young ladies vying for the title, 22-year-old Mariel Calderon, sponsored by Caribeña Enterprises, was selected as the next island queen and was crowned by outgoing Miss San Pedro Faith Edgar. The festival ended with a spectacular show on Saturday with entertainers from Belize, Mexico, and international talent, DJ Wuazat.

Boca del Rio Bridge officially opened

The festivities of this year’s Dia de San Pedro made space for the blessing and formal inauguration of the newly built Boca del Rio bridge connecting San Pedro Town with northern Ambergris Caye. On Thursday, June 29th, a ceremony was held next to the bridge, officially unveiling the structure whose reconstruction started in December 2021.

Festivities for Dia de San Pedro begin

From as early as 4AM, San Pedranos started the annual and traditional Dia de San Pedro celebrations on Thursday, June 29th. The first day of the festivities honoring the island’s Patron Saints, San Pedro and San Pablo, included a full day of activities spearheaded by the San Pedro Roman Catholic Church. The festival will span over the weekend with the Miss San Pedro Pageant and local and international entertainment at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre sporting complex.

San Pedro Catholic Church celebrates Father Eduardo Montemayor’s 20th priestly anniversary during Dia de San Pedro.

The San Pedro Roman Catholic Church observed the Dia de San Pedro on June 29th with several religious activities, including a celebration honoring Father Eduardo Montemayor’s 20 years as a priest. A special program was held at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium, where Father Montemayor was honored for his service over the past two decades. The event also saw several community and church members awarded.
