Government Internship Program Targets Belizean Youth

The Government of Belize has officially endorsed the 2025 Summer Internship Program, which provides students with valuable short-term employment and hands-on experience in public service. The initiative is coordinated by the Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform, and Disaster Risk Management. It is open to Belizean students aged 16 and older, from third form to junior college, as well as recent graduates within the past year. The program will run for one to three months, part-time or full-time, and includes a stipend for participants who apply before the deadline.

Signing of Statement of Agreement Between the Government of Belize and the Church Communities of Belize

On December 20, Hon. Henry Charles Usher, Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs, representing the Government of Belize, and Bishop A Moses Benguche, representing the church communities, formally signed a Statement of Agreement. Themed "Uniting Belize Against Corruption," the conference brought together diverse stakeholders to deliberate on comprehensive strategies to combat corruption.

GOB and UNDP to Develop Partnership to Support Good Governance Reform

Hon. Henry Charles Usher, Minister of Constitutional and Political Reform, met with representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on April 13. The meeting focused on discussions on the way forward regarding strengthening good governance and accountability and finding innovative solutions to address pressing issues in Belize. Key topics included the work of the Good Governance Unit in addressing corruption and the importance of leveraging technology and data to improve governance outcomes.

Minister of Religious Affairs Speaks at the 8th Jalsa Salana

Hon. Henry Charles Usher, Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs, was a speaker at the opening of the 8th Jalsa Salana, an annual gathering of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community. The two-day event of prayer, reflection and community building is being hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at in Belize City.
