Islanders attend Human Trafficking awareness training

Human trafficking affects the most vulnerable population in Central America and the Caribbean. In most incidents, it may be challenging to identify the problem. To help those concerned with the issue become more familiar with the situation and help raise awareness, a training was held on Wednesday, October 5th, at the island’s Community Center and Children’s Home Hope Haven.

Anti-Trafficking in Persons Symposium

The Ministry of Human Development, Families, and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs in partnership with the Human Trafficking Institute, conducted an Anti-Trafficking in Persons Symposium. The purpose of the event was to strengthen the operational elements and collaboration among the various government ministries and agencies relating to anti-trafficking efforts.

Belize Enters Agreement with the Human Trafficking Institute to Enhance the Capacity of Belize’s Specialized Human Trafficking Unit

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, The Belize Police Department and the Human Trafficking Institute entered into an agreement to partner in building the capacity of Belize’s Specialized Human Trafficking Unit that was formed earlier this year.
