San Pedro Celebrates 41 Years of Township and Unveils Renewed Community Sign
On Thursday, November 30th, San Pedro celebrated its 41st Township Day with a ceremony at Central Park beginning at 4:30PM. The event marked another milestone in the island’s evolution from a small fishing village to the vibrant destination it is today and included the unveiling of a renewed “San Pedro” sign, a symbol of local identity and pride. Community leaders, residents, and artists gathered to honor the town’s culture, history, and continued growth.

Bloom with Love: San Pedro Dance Academy hosts Mother’s Day Recital
On Saturday, May 3rd, the San Pedro Dance Academy (SPDA) hosted its annual Mother’s Day recital, "Bloom with Love." As May arrives, it brings a sense of love and appreciation for mothers, with various events taking place across the island. The special dance showcase, which celebrated mothers, love, and family, was held at the Lions Den.

Karissa Vasquez crowned as San Pedro Lions Club’s new queen
Miss San Pedro Lions 2024-2025 Karissa Vasquez was crowned on Thursday, April 18th. In a brief session held at their Lions Den on Barrier Reef Drive, Vasquez gracefully accepted the crown from outgoing queen Krystal Navarrete.

Unspecified streets to receive names; winning submissions awarded
The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) launched a street naming competition in mid-August. Those participating were required to create a sign with the street's name. Several entries were submitted, and three winners were selected at the end of the competition. These included Karissa Vasquez, Dion Ingram, and Mike Garman.

The San Pedro Dance Academy’s Annual Christmas Show features classics
Under the theme ‘Blast from the Past,’ the San Pedro Dance Academy held its annual Christmas Show on Saturday, December 7th at the San Pedro Lions Den. The event, which saw a packed den of happy parents and relatives, featured several dance numbers to the beat of classic Christmas songs and hits from the ’90s and ‘80s performed by the Academy’s beginner and advanced dancers.

CrossFit Wolf excels in first edition of Cancun Games
The CrossFit competition tested the skills and endurance levels of the competitors in beginners, intermediate, masters, RX-advanced and teen categories. At the end of the two-day event, Gabriel Nuñez Jr. managed to place second in the intermediate category making his CrossFit box and the island very proud.
