San Pedro celebrates Labour Day with a first-ever fitness challenge

The new San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) has been very active in the past months with different activities to engage the island community and stimulate the local economy. From business extravaganzas such as the Market Day to hosting the first-ever fitness challenge on the island on Labour Day, May 1st, at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex. The event tested athletes of various age groups in the beginners and intermediate categories.

Bigger and Better; SPTC hosts second Market Day

This second commerce-geared event was bigger than the previous one and offered great deals on an assortment of products. The variety of services and products to pick from seemed endless, from the freshest of fruits and vegetables to local cuisine to skincare products, footwear, clothing, liquor, spa services, arts and craft, jewellery, promos on phone credit, plants for sale, paintings and even a beer garden, among others.

SPTC promotes local businesses with the first-ever Women in Business Expo and Market Day

To start the economy moving and promote businesses on the island, particularly those newly created since the COVID-19 pandemic, the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) hosted two events showcasing the hard work and creativity of island business owners. On Friday, March 26th, the first one was a ‘Women in Business Expo’ featuring female entrepreneurs, and the following day was Market Day, promoting a variety of large and small businesses.
