Belize and COSEFIN Advance Preparations for the 2026 COSEFIN Pro Tempore Presidency
From May 19 to 22, the Executive Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Finance or Treasury of Central America, Panama, and the Dominican Republic — COSEFIN — carried out an official mission in Belize with the objective of supporting the Ministry of Economic Transformation in preparing for the Pro Tempore Presidency of COSEFIN, which Belize will assume during the second half of 2026.

National Climate Consultations to Address Climate Risks Affecting Belize
The Government of Belize has launched a series of National Consultations to strengthen the country’s response to climate change, with a particular focus on vulnerable coastal communities and key economic sectors, such as tourism. The consultations, taking place from January 19 to January 30, 2026, are being led by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change, and Solid Waste Management, through the National Climate Change Office (NCCO). The process forms part of Belize’s National Adaptation Planning efforts, which aim to reduce climate risks and improve long-term resilience nationwide.

PACT Awards Additional BZ$3.2 million in Grants to Enhance Belize’s Climate Resilience
The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) awarded BZ$3,267,756.70 in grants to support four subprojects under its Building Community Resilience via Transformative Adaptation project (EDA Project).
