New Horizon Seventh Day Adventist School Gets Brand-New Playground
Students of New Horizon Seventh Day Adventist School (NHSDAS), south of San Pedro Town, now have a brand-new playground. The new addition to the school compound was officially unveiled on March 2nd, made possible by the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye. The island club partnered with the Strathcona Rotaract Club and Sunday Rotaract Clubs of Alberta, along with the Rotary Club of Belize City and Canadian non-profit Mission to Children.

Rotary provides wheelchairs to those most in need
15 deserving island residents received brand new wheelchairs through a partnership between the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye and Chair The Love during a distribution held over the weekend. The donation coincided with the Christmas season of giving and formed part of a nationwide effort that delivered 260 wheelchairs across Belize.

Local Partnership Brings Much-Needed Repairs to New Horizon School Grounds
The grounds of the New Horizon Seventh Day Adventist Primary School in the DFC area received much-needed rehabilitation after recent floods left the schoolyard in poor condition. Local tour guide Oscar Iboy, in partnership with private-sector supporters, donated sand and gravel to fill and level the affected areas. The initiative aims not only to improve conditions at New Horizon but also to assist other schools affected by flooding from heavy rainfall.

Brighter Tomorrow Graduation 2025 Marks 18 Years of Serving
The Brighter Tomorrow Preschool celebrated its 2025 graduation with heartfelt enthusiasm, marking a significant milestone of 18 years of nurturing its young learners. The graduation was held at the Familia de Dios Church, located in the San Pedrito subdivision, and saw a total of 22 children receive their certificates.

Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye and San Pedro Lions Club further assist Fire Victims
The Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye and the San Pedro Lions Club provided additional monetary assistance to the fire victims on December 29th. On Wednesday, February 19th, the clubs met briefly with the recipients at the Lions Den on Barrier Reef Drive. Those in attendance received financial contributions to support their recovery following losses.

Humanitarian efforts for December fire victims continue
Efforts to assist the twelve families who lost everything in the fire on December 29th are ongoing in San Pedro Town. The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) and local groups such as the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye, churches, and the San Pedro Lions Club have been collecting clothing and monetary donations.

Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye renovates Hope Haven’s kitchen
The kitchen at Hope Haven Orphanage and Safe Home for Children in San Pedro Town has been upgraded with the support of the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye and The Truck Stop. This renovation has transformed the kitchen into a more functional and comfortable space for meal preparation and daily activities. The next project will focus on renovating the dining area adjacent to the kitchen to further enhance the experience for the children living at Hope Haven.

Island Rotary Club hosts another successful Back to School Supply Drive
With the assistance of many generous supporters, the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye collected enough resources to fund its annual ‘Back to School Supply Drive.’ Members of the club joined forces on Wednesday, August 21st, to fill 280 school bags with supplies. The backpacks will benefit students from selected educational institutions on the island. The program aims to raise awareness and encourage community involvement in campaigns designed to alleviate financial challenges for families in need on the island.
