Cementing of Blake Street starts south of San Pedro Town
A portion of Blake Street south of San Pedro Town is under preparation to be cemented. This effort is part of rehabilitating a stretch of road leading to the marina area, a vital barge port further south of town. On Monday, May 8th, the section of Blake Street leading into the San Pablo area was blocked and is currently being prepared for cement. According to those on the ground, it is just the beginning of a larger project.

Road rehabilitation and solar lighting project to upgrade Secret Beach road
The road leading to the Secret Beach on the northwest part of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, has recently seen upgrades. Some weeks ago, solar lights were installed, and on Wednesday, November 16th, the San Pedro Town Council said they were starting to rehabilitate the long stretch of road leading to one of the island's most popular tourist areas.

The San Pedrito Highway has been the site of major illegal dumping over the years, with the problem still not thoroughly addressed. The lack of lighting is another issue reported by residents. This problem has now been addressed with the installation of solar lights through a collaborative effort between stakeholders and the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC).
