Carnaval de San Pedro opens with first ever Comparsa Talent Show

The anticipated island celebration, El Carnaval de San Pedro, opened on Saturday, February 10th, with the first-ever Comparsa Talent Show featuring several colorful dancing groups on stage. Held at Central Park under the theme 'Tributo a la Tradicion,' the festival included live entertainment, games for the children, and booths offering tasty treats and beverages.

The art of Flamenco dancing brought to the island

A group of island ladies took up the challenge of learning how to dance flamenco under the guidance of instructor Lorena Ayala. The Flamenco dance instructor is visiting from Spain and partnered with Miss San Pedro 2023-2024 Mariel Calderon through the ‘Empow.Her’ foundation. Together, they offered the opportunity to those interested to immerse themselves in this fun and cultural experience.

Learn how to dance Flamenco; limited spaces available

A collaboration between Miss San Pedro Mariel Calderon’s “Empow.Her” foundation and Flamenco dance instructor Lorena Ayala is offering the opportunity to participate in a fun and cultural dance session on Saturday, February 3rd, from 6-7PM. The dance session will be held at the San Pedro Dance Academy studio on the second level of the Lions Den on Barrier Reef Drive. Even though participation is open to the general public, only limited spaces are available. The cost is $35 to cover overhead expenses. Unwrapping the Magic of Dance: San Pedro Dance Academy hosts the Annual Christmas Show.

The San Pedro Dance Academy (SPDA) ended the dance season with its Annual Christmas Show on Saturday, December 16th. The Angel Nunez Auditorium was filled with family and friends eager to enjoy the dance showcase for which the younger performers have worked for months. The SPDA comprises over 30 dancers in four divisions: beginners, junior level one, junior level two, intermediates, and seniors.

San Pedro Lobster Fest block party brings people together and awards the best in food and drinks

The San Pedro Lobster Fest block party on Saturday, July 15th, saw hundreds of tourists and locals enjoying the celebration in honor of the Caribbean spiny lobster season. The annual festival was held at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Arena starting at 5PM, showcasing the best in lobster dishes, colorful and creative restaurant booths, live music, celebrity chef appearances, and the highly anticipated food and drink competition. The massive celebration following the week-long Lobster Crawl was the conclusion to San Pedro's Lobster Festival.
