San Pedro Lions promote mental health awareness at SPHS
On World Mental Health Day, observed on Friday, October 10th, the San Pedro Lions Club hosted an informative program at the San Pedro High School (SPHS) focused on mental health awareness. The event featured motivational speeches and a personal testimony, reminding students that they are not alone in their struggles and encouraging them to seek support. The message emphasized that asking for help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness.

San Pedro Lions Club observes Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is observed every September to raise awareness and support children and families affected by the disease. Throughout the month, the San Pedro Lions Club led an awareness campaign, which culminated on Tuesday, September 30, with a visit to the San Pedro Roman Catholic Primary School. There, members distributed gold ribbons, the universal symbol of childhood cancer awareness, to students and staff.

San Pedro Lions Club Honours Community Workers
The San Pedro Lions Club celebrated National Service Day on Saturday, September 13th, by distributing meals to nearly 300 community workers. The annual occasion is observed nationwide, with individuals and organizations carrying out service projects to promote positive change through hard work and community spirit.

Lion Rosalyn Tzib has taken office as the 50th president of the San Pedro Lions Club and outlined her plans to strengthen the club’s role in serving the island community. Among her priorities are expanding services in the Lions’ global focus areas: environment, childhood cancer, hunger, diabetes, and vision.

New San Pedro Lions Club Board Members Installed at Regional Ceremony
For the first time, the San Pedro Lions Club installed its new Board of Directors alongside the Belize City Lions Club, the Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club, and the Belmopan City Lions Club during a special event held on the mainland. The ceremony took place on July 5th at the Caribbean Motors facilities in Belize City. In addition to the installation of the board of directors, Lion Enes Anderson, formerly from San Pedro, received the prestigious Melvin Jones Award.

Emma Lopez crowned as First-Ever Little Miss San Pedro
The Little Miss San Pedro pageant crowned its first-ever winner on the evening of Saturday, May 31st, at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium. Organized by the San Pedro Lions Club, this inaugural event featured five young contestants vying for the title. The contestants were eight-year-old Valeria Garcia, sponsored by Caye International Bank; seven-year-old Tracy Muñoz, hosted by Hidden Jewel Boutique Hotel; six-year-old Kaylin Maldonado, hosted by Captain Sharks; nine-year-old Grace Rodriguez, sponsored by Nupalm Island Lounge; and six-year-old Emma Lopez, sponsored by Caribbean Depot. At the end of an exciting show, Emma Lopez emerged as the winner, taking the crown and scepter.

The San Pedro Lions Club is set to make history with the inaugural Little Miss San Pedro pageant, scheduled for Saturday, May 31st. This exciting event will feature five young contestants, aged 6 to 10, who will showcase their charm, talent, and advocacy for global causes supported by Lionism. The contestants are 8-year-old Valeria Garcia, sponsored by Caye International Bank; 7-year-old Tracy Muñoz, sponsored by Hidden Jewel Boutique Hotel;; 6-year-old Kaylin Maldonado, sponsored by Captain Sharks; 9-year-old Grace Rodriguez, sponsored by Nupalm Lounge; and 6-year-old Emma Lopez, sponsored by Caribbean Depot.

Caye Caulker Lions Branch Club officially installed
Caye Caulker, San Pedro’s sister island, now has a Lions Club. The Caye Caulker Lions Branch Club was officially inaugurated on Saturday, April 26th, at the San Pedro Lions Den. This special occasion included the confirmation of 16 new members from Caye Caulker and the installation of the board of directors.
