San Pedro Lions Club leads 5K Diabetes Glow Run/Walk
The San Pedro Lions Club, in partnership with the 501 Run Club and the San Pedro Town Council, held a 5K Glow Run/Walk on November 28th to increase awareness about diabetes. The event, which commemorated this year’s World Diabetes Day, observed on November 14th, was postponed earlier in the month due to inclement weather.

San Pedro closes October with Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
To honor those who have lost their battle with breast cancer and support those still fighting the disease, a group of islanders gathered at Central Park on Friday, October 31st, for an awareness walk through downtown San Pedro. The event saw participation from the San Pedro Lions Club, Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II, local athletes, the island’s Health Department, the Labour Office, and other community members.

San Pedro Lions Club Celebrates 50 Years of Service
On Friday, October 25th, the San Pedro Lions Club proudly celebrated half a century of service to La Isla Bonita. The 50th anniversary gala was held at the Watermark Hotel, north of San Pedro Town. It featured a night of recognitions, heartfelt speeches, and reflections on five decades of community impact through Lionism.

San Pedro Lions Club Welcomes New Members and Installs First-Ever Cubs Club
On October 21st, the San Pedro Lions Club made history by installing its first-ever Cub Club, featuring nine young members. A special ceremony was held at the Lions Den on Barrier Reef Drive, where the San Pedro Lions Cubs were officially introduced as part of the Lions family. The event also included the installation of four new members into the San Pedro Lions Club.

San Pedro Lions promote mental health awareness at SPHS
On World Mental Health Day, observed on Friday, October 10th, the San Pedro Lions Club hosted an informative program at the San Pedro High School (SPHS) focused on mental health awareness. The event featured motivational speeches and a personal testimony, reminding students that they are not alone in their struggles and encouraging them to seek support. The message emphasized that asking for help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness.

San Pedro Lions Club observes Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is observed every September to raise awareness and support children and families affected by the disease. Throughout the month, the San Pedro Lions Club led an awareness campaign, which culminated on Tuesday, September 30, with a visit to the San Pedro Roman Catholic Primary School. There, members distributed gold ribbons, the universal symbol of childhood cancer awareness, to students and staff.

San Pedro Lions Club Honours Community Workers
The San Pedro Lions Club celebrated National Service Day on Saturday, September 13th, by distributing meals to nearly 300 community workers. The annual occasion is observed nationwide, with individuals and organizations carrying out service projects to promote positive change through hard work and community spirit.

New San Pedro Lions Club President Ready to Move the Club Forward
Lion Rosalyn Tzib has taken office as the 50th president of the San Pedro Lions Club and outlined her plans to strengthen the club’s role in serving the island community. Among her priorities are expanding services in the Lions’ global focus areas: environment, childhood cancer, hunger, diabetes, and vision.
