Team Belize Pro Dive Center wins 3rd Annual Easter Sunday Kayak Race
In this year's Easter Sunday Kayak Race, Jessie Smith and Daniel Gregorio, kayaking for Belize Pro Dive Center, won first place. Eighteen teams paddled to Secret Beach from downtown San Pedro in the third edition of the annual competition.

Thousands enjoy Easter holidays on Ambergris Caye
Over Easter, locals and tourists in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, celebrated with religious events and beach activities. The celebrations took place in various locations across the island, including the popular Secret Beach on the northwest coast of Ambergris Caye. Visitors began arriving on Thursday, March 28th, eager to enjoy the festivities on La Isla Bonita.

Rehabilitation works continue on Secret Beach road
The road leading to the Secret Beach area on the northwest part of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, has seen upgrades since January 15th. The damages to the road are due to the heavy annual rainfall of the season. As the rainy season has ended, the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) has started rehabilitation works on this road, a primary artery for the residential and business community living along this part of the island. The road repairs will improve access to one of Ambergris Caye’s most popular recreational spots.

The Easter festivities on San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, provided several activities for those seeking to enjoy the annual holiday on the island. From the Passion of Christ play led by the San Pedro Catholic Church to recreational activities on the beach and the yearly kayak race to Secret Beach, San Pedro did not disappoint and welcomed hundreds of visitors over the weekend.

World-renowned gymnast and Olympic champion Simone Biles celebrated her bachelorette party in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The decorated Olympic champion of Belizean ancestry spent a weekend at the Alaia Hotel south of San Pedro, where she and a group of friends had fun and visited several places on Ambergris Caye.

Road rehabilitation and solar lighting project to upgrade Secret Beach road
The road leading to the Secret Beach on the northwest part of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, has recently seen upgrades. Some weeks ago, solar lights were installed, and on Wednesday, November 16th, the San Pedro Town Council said they were starting to rehabilitate the long stretch of road leading to one of the island's most popular tourist areas.

Tourist airlifted back to the US after golf cart accident
On her way back from Secret Beach, a tourist was involved in a traffic accident on Wednesday, July 7th, sustaining extensive head trauma. The female patient was assisted by Rickilee Response and Rescue (Triple R). She was stabilized and then transported to Belize City via Belize Emergency Response Team's air ambulance. On Thursday, July 8th, she was flown to the United States (US) for further specialized treatment.

Rescue teams were quick to locate the missing man after he went paddleboarding in northern Ambergris Caye.
